We have once a local customer requested us to suppy a bright Neon yellow colored fluoroelastomer compound. Our experienced technician suggested that only Peroxide curable system fluoroelastomer could offer a satisfactory performance. However, the customer insisted that we use bisphenol curable fluoroelastomer. After a few times of color adjusting, it took us about two days and 3-4 kilograms of raw materials, we finally made the Neon yellow color by bisphenol curable fluropolymer. The result is just like our technician warned, the color was darker than expected. In the end, the customer changed his idea and decided to use peroxide curable fluoropolymer. Regarding the fillers, Barium sulfate, calcium fluoride, etc. can be selected as the filling system for colored fluororubber. Barium sulfate can make the color of colored fluororubber brighter and the cost is lower. The fluorine rubber filled with calcium fluoride has good physical and mechanical properties, but the cost is high.
